Waverly Place Brings Community Feel to Area

Waverly Place Brings Community Feel to Area

Enjoy these Events at Waverly Place in Cary, NC

Waverly Place, just down the road from Lochmere, was recently redeveloped into a sleek outdoor shopping and entertainment venue.  Over the past two years more and more shops and restaurants have opened in the plaza.  Some recent additions are Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe and Barberitos Fresh Mexican Cafe.  Enrigo's Italian Bistro, with its indoor-outdoor dining patio has been a favorite since opening.

The enclosed playground and splash-pad have become a big hit with children and parents.  The large grassy area in the center of the plaza is perfect for having the kids get out some energy with a Frisbee or a ball.  On hot summer days you can cool off with a Gelato from Fresca Cafe or a mix up a fun frozen treat at Menchies Frozen Yogurt.  You could even splurge on a giant cupcake at GiGi's.

Ongoing special events draw large crowds and a weekly Farmer's Market is a local favorite, Saturdays from 9 am to Noon.  Whole Foods, long time anchor of the plaza, is enjoying the increased traffic from its new neighbors.

Wind Down Wednesdays at Waverly Place has been drawing large crowds and is a fun family friendly activity.  14 concerts over the summer months are planned.  Bring a blanket and enjoy the music and fun.  View the Band Lineup Here.

This Fall get ready for some Jazz!  Waverly Place will be featuring a Fall Jazz Series on Thursdays.

New Apartment Complex Coming Soon Near Lochmere

In June 2012 a land deal was finalized for a 12.5 acre property located at the corner of Cary Parkway and Tryon Rd.  Plans are to build a 205 unit apartment complex.  Lochmere residents voiced concern over the project, but it has been approved and will be constructed.

On the positive side, small business owners in the Lowes shopping center may see a benefit from an increase in traffic in the area.  Many business and restaurants in the shopping center have struggled, especially with the opening of Waverly Place just down the road.

What are your thoughts on this new project?  Do you think it will have a positive or negative impact on home values in Lochmere?  Will we see an increase or decrease in homes for sale?
